We live in a world that inundates us with options and decisions like no other generation has faced. The problem is just getting worse. In order to live a life that counts and is filled with peace, you need to focus your efforts on what matters most.
But in the crush of information, options, and decisions, it can be hard to focus on our God-given passions, gifts, and talents. In fact, a lot of us haven’t even had time to discover them in the first place.
So, that’s what we’re going to focus on today - making sure you’re clear on how God has wired you and what gifts and passions He has given you.
Set aside some time this week when you won’t be distracted and reflect on these questions:
Then, plan to ask someone you trust (a mentor, pastor, or close friend) these questions:
Stress for them how important it is that they do not feel like you need to be affirmed as much as you desire your true gifts to be confirmed.
The very best way I’ve seen people discover gifts and receive affirmation is by engaging in the life and lives of the body of Christ. So, even if you’re still not sure what your gifts and passions are, just get plugged into the body of Christ! God loves to steer a moving boat, even if it fearfully leaves the dock without knowing exactly where it’s going. Also keep in mind that the gifts God gives you might be completely different from any talents you use to do your job or enjoy a hobby.
Until next week,
